• Recognize the required performance of fire protection systems and equipment components.
• Discover the necessary inspection and maintenance of fire protection systems and equipment.
• Enhance your knowledge of the requirements for personnel egress and access by emergency vehicles
• Update your existing fire protection maintenance and inspection program.

Description
The integrity of appropriate fire protection systems and equipment in a facility is essential to minimize personnel risk and protect the facility and equipment within the facility. This course examines equipment associated with the following:
a) protecting personnel (fire alarm systems, emergency lighting, etc.) in the event of a fire and
b) minimizing the impact of a fire on equipment and property (sprinkler systems, extinguishing devices, etc.)

Who Should Attend
Institutional, commercial and industrial facility managers, engineers, supervisors and superintendents. Plant operation and maintenance engineers, technicians and supervisors. Staff responsible for fire protection systems in kitchen facilities and Insurance company representatives.

John Percy, Cambridge Fire Department.

John Percy is a certified Canadian Fire Alarm Association Technician (CFAA) for Ontario, public fire & life safety educator and fire prevention officer with the Office of the Fire Marshal. He has over 27 years of experience in the fire protection and fire service industries. He has experience with enforcement of the Ontario Fire & Building codes, fire investigations, education, media relations and building plans examination review. Currently registered (BCIN) as a Fire Protection Inspector with the Ministry of Municipal Affairs & Housing in Ontario.
