Description
Building owners and managers often rely on specialized professionals to ensure their properties are safe, efficient, and in good condition. This course dives into the critical aspects of building assessments, focusing on key systems vital to any structure's integrity and functionality. Participants will gain a solid understanding of the methodologies used in conducting a comprehensive Building Condition Assessment, with particular emphasis on Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning (HVAC), plumbing, and fire safety systems.
In addition to these core areas, the course also addresses the growing concerns surrounding mould and moisture issues, which, if left unchecked, can lead to significant structural damage and health risks. Through theoretical knowledge and practical insights, this course equips participants with the skills to visually assess these systems effectively, identify potential problems, and recommend appropriate corrective actions.
By the end of this course, attendees will be prepared to conduct assessments, provide expert advice, and contribute to developing maintenance and contingency plans that ensure the longevity and safety of residential, commercial, and institutional buildings. Whether new to building assessments or looking to enhance your expertise, this course offers valuable tools and insights to help you excel in your field.
Who Should Attend
This course is ideal for building science professionals responsible for assessing the condition of existing residential, commercial, and institutional structures. It is particularly beneficial for engineers, architects, and technologists who evaluate buildings and prepare contingency plans based on these assessments.
